These pictures were taken in the amish country. I took these two shots with both slow exposures and Florescent white balances. I moved the camera in a circle for the image above which was of a tree. I like the feel of the second image, rather haunting.
This is my music poster for our fourth assignment. I chose the song "Where is my Mind" by PIXIES (the song at the end of Fight Club.) I like this song because I can really relate to the words during my high school years. Interesting times. I chose the lines, "Your head will collapse but nothing's in it" and "Where is my mind."
The purple/pink spirals were of a picture of a bon fire and I moved my camera in circles while it was taking the picture, then I messed with the colors to look like so. The layer over top of that was a picture of broken glass with a lower opacity. On the bottom right I took a picture of a pigeon and duplicated the picture and color burned the images. Over the birds is a picture of the branches from a dead tree. On the left is a picture of me, laughing like I'm "loosing my mind." Under my head is a picture of a fish that I drew and scanned in. Doesn't make sense but then again that was the idea of the whole image. I wrote the words with ink and pen and warped them to flow with the image. The "WHERE" is white out tape. This was both done on Illustrator and Photoshop but I definitely prefer photoshop.
I went to a bonfire Monday night. Fun standing in the bitter cold, down pouring rain, and high winds, but it was fun. We had smores. These 3 different images all had different lengths of exposures. The top image had the longest exposure and I moved the camera while it was taking the picture giving it the swirling effect. The middle image didn't have as long of an exposure but long enough to blur the flames. The bottom image had a fast shutter speed, shorter exposure so you can actually see the individual flames. Always fun to play with fire.
It's one thing when you try to shoot in the rain, it's another when you try to shoot in the rain with roof ripping winds. On the bright side, rain certainly makes objects look more interesting. This was by taken in a small garden by the Brandywine river in Wilmington, I used a low depth of field at about 5.
I took this picture at a park in Hockessin. I did enhance the colors and made the red stand out more. This was taken with a medium depth of field so the background was completely blurred but not totally in focus. I think the boy running in the background really adds to the picture, I didn't even realize he was in it till I viewed the image afterwards.
I guess there's certain areas you don't want to zoom in on. This is in a window in the lobby of my building. You can kind of see the beige colored spider towards the right. Obviously this was in a low depth of field and I loved the background colors, very earthy. Overall I found this image rather interesting.
I took this picture the other day just outside of Morris Library. I used a low depth of field as you can tell the background is blurred and the foreground is detailed. I later edited the image through photoshop. I saturated the berries and unsaturated the leaves to make the berries pop out more. I also gave the whole image a slight reddish tint.
I have a confession: I'm a cine-file. I love movies and learning about how they're made. It's been one of the few passions in my life that has never faltered. That and sharks, randomly enough. I'm currently pursuing a career in the entertainment industry and will hopefully land a job that gets me some behind the scenes action.
