sand dunes

I made this for a friend with some of that extra poster paper we had from our last project. Probably took a half an hour to make and an hour to print. God damn printers! I never understand them.  I did this all on illustrator which I'm very proud of  because I would choose photoshop any day over illustrator but I need the practice and it didn't come out half bad.

The Woods

Black & White
Sepia
Antique

These were some self portrait shots I took the other day in the woods near by where I live. I feel like there's no end in these woods and I'll never find the other side.  I couldn't stay long because the cold was getting to me, it was 19 degrees with an 11 degree wind chill. Perhaps I'll find that other side another day when It's not too unbearably cold.

A Day in the Life

We'll start at the beginning shall we?  Happy little girl. No responsibilities, no worries, no idea what's going on in the world, oblivious.  I never thought I would get the Peter Pan Syndrome. All my life all I have ever wanted was to grow up and do stuff on my own...well now that I am, I kinda want to go back to being an oblivious little kid again.

So I grow up very confused and alone and start thinking a bit much and start realizing that no one is safe.  Everyone's out to get me...in other words paranoia. What else would I do with my fun spare time?

Then we totally lost ourselves in high school (prime time suffering years, eh?) aaaand that's all I'll say about that...

But hey, there were some delights in a troubled mind.  Run Run Run was the best thing I could do.  Cross Country, greatest sport and toughest sport (in my opinion) ever!  I've passed out twice, threw up lunch a few times, had physical therapy, lost toe nails, got blisters, heat exhaustion, muscle strains, asthma attacks, shin splints, and all that good stuff. Yes, those were the good times, really. Because is was all worth it in the end.

Now college is more confusing then ever because I'm not exactly sure what to do, what to be, where to be, and all those millions of questions. oy.  Perhaps going back to a kid would be great, but not in my life. I wouldn't want to go through everything that I did, again. Might as well send me to hell.  So, in other words, we're in a good spot right now, not the best but the best so far I think.

Design - Final Project

We could not have done this project without the help of our beloved coffee.  Some people were staying up till 5 in the morning working on their projects. I have to tip my hat off to those individuals.

This is what we had to work around...fun.  It's going to take a while to clean this up.
At last, the pizza cutter is completed, finally!

It stands somewhere between 7 and 8 ft tall and the wheel does spin, so if anyone happens to make a gigantic pizza, give me a ring and I'll cut it up for ya.

silhouette

This was taken probably 5 years ago in Utah.  My fam and some friends left early one morning to go hike the sand dunes.  What a work out!  They were enormous. Once we got to the top of one, which was like the size of the Empire State Building, we would do flips, rolls, jumps, "sand"board, fights, all that crazy fun stuff. So This is me just hangin in the sun.  I didn't understand why we left so early to go to the dunes but by the end I found out.  We stayed a little too long and sun had heated up the sand....we left our shoes by the car because it was too hard to walk in the sand with them on.  Anyways, we ran and ran and ran like the devil was chasing us himself.  I thought I was running on fire.  Best part was that our cars were parked like a mile away and you don't run very fast in sand.

Good Times. Have to go back one day.

Autumn Color War

This was on a bridge, as seen below as well, with a real low depth of field. I really liked the color combo.
This is my girl, Josie, caught on camera on a leaf covered bridge.  Loved the colors in the trees in the background and of course I love my dog.
This was the water beneath the bridge.  I had a slower exposure to make the water look more smooth.  The cool colors in the water work well with the warm colors of the leaves surrounding it.
This was obviously a long exposure with some movement of the camera.  These were some orange trees and I just clicked that button and quickly moved the camera downward. Reminds me of fire.
This was in my backyard.  Well, actually the tree was just leaning in our backyard from another home's property.  We don't have pretty trees like this, our tree's leaves don't really change color, they just die.  Anyways, my favorite color is red so how could I resist this shot. I sure love the fall, it was good while it lasted.

Why so Serious?

I made this in the summer.  One of my absolute favorite movies. Can't wait for the DVD on December 9th!
